Biography
Mr. Hennessey has specialized in eminent domain and property valuation litigation for more than 45 years. During that time, he has handled more than 500 direct and inverse condemnation matters on behalf of corporate and individual property and business owners. Those eminent domain cases have involved a wide spectrum of property and business types including raw land, master plan developments, industrial developments, office buildings, apartment complexes, mobile home parks, service stations, restaurants, medical and dental facilities, storage facilities, recreation facilities, churches, farm, dairy and equestrian facilities.

Representative Cases
- The taking of the landmark Lever Brothers soap facility in the City of Commerce, in which the total compensation awarded after a jury trial exceeded $20 million
- Los Angeles Unified School District v. Meruelo Maddux Properties which resulted in a judgment of $50 million on behalf of our client
- City of Los Angeles v. Sylmar Foothill LLC which resulted in a judgment in favor of our client of $20 million
- Chaffey Joint UHSD v. Intex Properties Inland Empire LP which resulted in a judgment in favor of our client in excess of $17 million
- Temecula Valley USD v. Sheffield FV-II, LLC which resulted in a judgment in favor of our client in excess of $14 million
- State of California v. La Cresta Investments, where the State paid in excess of $9 million for a partial taking of an apartment complex
- State of California v. Newport Diversified which resulted in a judgment in favor of our client in the sum of $6.7 million for a partial taking of an outdoor swap meet complex
- Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority v. Majestic Realty Co. which resulted in a judgment in favor of our client in excess of $4.7 million for a partial taking for a grade separation project
- State of California v. Los Angeles Athletic Club which resulted in a $4 million judgment for our client
- Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority v. Majestic Realty Co. which resulted in a judgment for our client in excess of $2.750 million after the Authority had offered only $428,000 to take permanent and temporary easements along the perimeter of an industrial property for a grade separation project
